    Pure titanium and titanium alloy have small specific gravity, high strength, good biocompatibility, can reduce the weight of the denture and is conducive to the health of the remaining tissue, is an ideal dental metal material, but the strength of pure titanium is low, poor wear resistance, its performance for removable denture repair is slightly insufficient.The alloyed titanium can obtain higher strength and better machining property and improve its application in removable denture.

 

    3D printing replaces traditional processing technology with digital technology to simplify the process flow of denture processing. Under the premise of ensuring the homogeneity of products, 3D printing has the advantages of fast forming, high precision, less material waste and saving time and cost.

 

    3D metal printing adopts the way of laying powder and cladding metal layer by layer to avoid the occurrence of casting defects, achieve better biomechanical properties of materials and structural weight reduction, minimize the area of remotable denture, and increase the comfort of patients.As a new digital processing technology to replace the traditional casting technology, the mechanical properties of 3D printed materials are directly related to the design of movable denture stents. Therefore, this study analyzed the properties of 3D printed Ti-6Al-4V alloy materials to evaluate the feasibility of its application in dental prostheses.

 

    it is difficult to cast titanium because of its high melting point, unstable chemical properties, low density and low casting rate.With the application of CAD/CAM technology, the machining of prostheses has entered the digital stage. However, the cutting mode of prostheses has caused a large waste of raw materials and the wear of cutting tools, which leads to the increase of machining cost.SLM technology is carried out in the whole process under the protection of inert gas, using the way of powder laying, layer by layer cladding metal, to avoid the waste and unnecessary pollution in the cutting manufacturing process, and the formed metal has close to 100% density, high dimensional accuracy, to avoid the shortcomings of traditional casting technology, to ensure the mechanical properties of the material.
